eye cannot see

Today I am going to tell you about my appointment at the eye doctor. I am not expecting sympathy or anything just relating the facts. I am trying hard to feel fine about things but I was depressed. I remember when I was taking care of my mother and she was having trouble with her eyes. She said she could take anything as long as she could see. I kind of feel the same way. The good thing is I have perfect vision in one eye so what do I have to feel bad about? So...back to the doctor appointment. I am having a lot of trouble with my left eye. When I developed MS I had optic neuritis in that eye, the optic nerve has been "pale" every since but I was able to see fine. Then I had cataract surgery and for a brief time my vision was almost like new. Now it seems I have developed a wrinkling of the retina on that eye. The doctor said something about the vitreous fluid and the wrinkling causing my problem. I am to see another Ophthalmologist who specializes in the retina. It will probably have to get much worse before surgery but I guess surgery is the only fix for my problem. As of now I have lost my confidence in driving very far. I have to read with one eye. When walking I feel unsure because I see the ground at two different levels! I try to look at people normally when talking to them but it is hard since I see with one good eye and one not so good eye and it is almost enough to make me sea sick. That is what I am putting up with and have been for some time now. The computer screen presents a problem too so I have to make adjustments for that. Okay...I have complained enough now so I am going to stop. I am going to go meditate on all the blessings I do have and think positive thoughts .

  2. You didn't do any complaining! You were describing your innermost thoughts to your friends. I, for one, appreciate your concerns and want to be here to listen, and offer any comfort I can give. You are doing a great job of accepting your vision limitations, and seeking possible solutions. Huge hugs!

  3. Oh Lois I am so sorry you are having problems. (((((((((Lois))))))))) Is there any eye lenses that might help clear the left eye? I know it's so very hard to accept a limitation like this but with God's help you can do it. You'll be in my thoughts and my prayers. Love & Hugs.
