Traditions Meme

  1. Are traditions important in your family for holidays or do you just celebrate without them?
  2. Is there one particular tradition that is most important to your and yours?
  3. Did you incorporate any new traditions with your family that are in addition to ones your parents held? What are they?
  4. Do you think tradition is important?
  5. Are there any traditions you do not include that you would like to try?  What are they?
  6. Can you tell us why your traditions are special to you and how they benefit you?
  7. Are there daily /weekly/monthly traditions you follow?

1. We like some traditions.

2.  Going to church the night before Christmas.

3.  We started having our grown children, and their children sit around in a circle.  Then my oldest son reads The Night Before Christmas and as he reads we pass around gifts (special for this).  When "the" or "and" is read you reverse the passing.  When the story is over you get the gift in your hand at that time.  Fun!

4. I think it makes the special day mean more.

5. Special baking that has kind of gone away with time.  Like to get back to that.

6.  Anything done with the family together is meaningful.  This is a time to be together.  People are so busy now days and have so many different things they are doing it makes it hard to be with each other.

7. During this season some things are done leading up to the day.  The advent wreath..lighting candles..readings from our Bible.  A special time for putting together things for those that don't have.
