Shirley Temple has died. She lived a long life, 1928 - 2014. She said "I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph."
I loved watching her old movies. I can remember them in black and white and they were so nice. No swearing, lots of good moral messages. I miss the days when you could see a movie that didn't have bad language spouted at every opportunity. Maybe I am getting too old. I hear the F bomb used so much in everyday life and especially on the movie screens. Do people not know how to express themselves anymore without using that particular word? I could go on and on with my thoughts of life today but this is the day to remember Shirley Temple. A child actor that started at three years of age and went on to become an ambassador for our country. What a life. She had her trials...breast cancer....but she remained upbeat and a real person, someone to be admired. Rest in peace Shirley, you will be missed.
It is the end of an era. She was a wonderful person and a great example.
