Did you know?

More than half of the coastline of the entire United States .....is in Alaska.  The Amazon rainforest produces more than 20% of the world's oxygen supply!  Antarctica is the only land on our planet that is not owned by any country....Canada has more lakes than the rest of the world combined.  There are more Irish in New York City than in Dublin, Ireland; more Italians in New York City than in Rome, Italy; and more Jews in New York City than in Tel Aviv, Israel!  Just a few tid bits of information I received in an e-mail that I thought was very interesting.  There was much more but it would take a lot of typing.  Since I am in Ohio I will mention one more.  There are no natural lakes in the state of Ohio, every one in man made.  Isn't it amazing the things about our country we never think about?  Right now we are in the midst of a crisis in our government.  Will things be able to be worked out before I need to worry if my SS check will still be coming?  I imagine at the last minute things will be worked out.  It is pathetic though to listen to the politicians talking and arguing and not wanting to give an inch.  Neither party is all right but each person in their particular party wants to have their 15 minutes of fame and TV time.  Too much government and although I know we are to help others...we seem to spend so much money helping others when we have so many here at home needing help!  What's wrong with that?  Okay, I could go on and on but don't believe in making noise about something that I have no control over.  I don't either.  I vote regularly, but seems when you vote someone in they change completely what they were running their election on.  Oh well.  And....as my wise mother used to always say...Fools names and fools faces always appear in public places.  A lot of fools out there on the TV screen right now.
