Eye

I am happy to say I finally got an appointment for my eye surgery to fix the eye that didn't do well with the last surgery.  November 2, 2011 is the big day.  What amazed me was this time when I called instead of talking to the person that answered the phone I asked to speak to the person that schedules surgeries.  I was put on hold for a short and then she came on the line and put me on hold again to get my file.  Then she said something about my having postponed the date given to me and was I ready now.  I told her I have been calling in since the doctor said we would have surgery and been told that there was a lot of surgeries scheduled and they would get back to me.  I never heard back ever!  Then she says.....I am so sorry...I don't know what happened here but lets set up a date right now.  The doctor will be out of the office till the end of the month!!!!!  How about November 2?  I of course said yes.  Then I proceeded to say "And you are sure this date is going to happen?"  She said yes and she would be sending me papers to fill out to get ready for it.  I feel like I have been given such a runaround.  Although I am also sure from past experience that office help today is not as good as it was when I was working.  In my working days in an office atmosphere we had to have things right and back check and make notes to make sure of that.  Today it seems like people are so careless in the way they handle things.  I know one thing...now that I have a date I am going to keep on this till it is accomplished.  It even worries me a bit that the doctor hasn't seen me since July 26th and the first I will see him is before going into the operating room.  Will he remember what we discussed and how he is going to go about this?  If I have to hold his hand and keep him from leaving my bed before surgery  I am going to make sure of it!!

  2. Hi Lois, Glad to hear you got an appointment at last.
They should see you before the surgery I agree!
Office staff are not what they once were at all. Things were different years ago for sure.

  3. So glad you finally have a date for your surgery and I know exactly what you mean about office help not being the same as it used to be years ago. Just one more thing that isn't as good as it was years ago. Well any way I'm sure glad your getting your surgery. Keep on them Lois. Hugs.
