The new year has started. In eleven days my husband and I will celebrate 49 years of marriage. My how time goes by. Both of our parents have passed away and would be so pleased that we remained married. We were pretty young when we got married. He was my first real date and even though we dated others off and on we kept coming back together again. Married life was hard in the early years. Lots of ups and downs and struggles but through it all we remained together. Now days it seems marriage is not as important to people. A lot of people just move in together or do get married but divorce after so many years. Then of course we have those that are denied marriage that protest loudly. I guess you want what you can't have but then when those that can are married they too seem to call it quits after so many years. I am not saying I am better than anyone else just because my marriage has lasted. I am just saying that it seems most people of my age feel it is the way to go and the younger generation just doesn't feel that commitment. Oh shoot.....I am just jabbering like I do at times! There are of course many reasons why people don't stay together and I am just one of the lucky ones that managed to do it. Hooray for me and now I will shut up. Happy New Year to all of us and let us pray that we all experience good health, good friends, good luck, and remain in faith to our God.

Congratulations on 40 years and may you have many more happy years to come.
