Me and the car

Tomorrow I am meeting a gal I went to high school with and we are going to go to a restaurant that once a month has a gathering of other gals we graduated with for a breakfast. Linda, woman I am meeting, is visiting from her home in Chicago.  She came back to OH to see her mother for Mother's Day.  I haven't gone to this breakfast ever before.  Mostly because when they started it I always had something going on the day they meet.  Then after I had the time I started having my eye problems.  Then the hubby retired and I sold my car to my oldest son figuring we wouldn't need two cars.  As the retirement years went by and I was recovering from the eye problems it was just easier for him to do all the driving.  Now the eyes are better but I have not been doing much driving for a long time.  Oh going to get my hair cut and maybe a trip up to the doctor's office which is close, that was all.  Tomorrow I am meeting this friend and she will drive the rest of the way to the restaurant.  Well the hubby woke up this morning all concerned about my driving.  He had me drive us to the restaurant....so he would know that I was all right to drive as far as I was going to have to go.  So with him doing some instructing..sigh...I drove there and back.  He was satisfied with my driving and feels more confident about me going now.  We have decided though that I need to do more driving on my own and even when we are both going somewhere together.  It is amazing how much confidence you lose when you don't keep up with something....like the driving.  I have lost interest in going places and doing things and it is time for me to get back behind the wheel and get out and go!!!!

  1. I agree, you do need to get driving more, but I myself hate driving when Terry is with me. So get out on your own and go places and get more confidence even if it's only to the grocery or WalMart or something. Good luck and I hope you have fun with your friends and hope you had a nice Mothers day too. Hugs. Judy
