Exercise inspiration

Not a good picture but you can get the idea.  There is a treadmill against the wall in back of the basket that has equipment in it.  Then the Gazelle beside the treadmill and beside that see the wood chair?  Well in front of the chair is a peddler machine so I can sit on the chair and peddle.  The close up machine  (really have to look) is my stepper and beside that ....real close to the first thing you can see is the total gym.  You really can only see the place you sit on it.  That is a window on the wall too but you can't see out of it here.  All this is in a corner of the family room and because of where it is it makes it easy to exercise.  Why am I blogging about this?  Well, I have always found excuses not to exercise.  I could really back it up with my telling myself I have MS and can't.  Then I could use my age.  Oh, and allow myself to have a "bad" day.  Lots of excuses.  Now after doing this daily it has become a habit.  I feel so much better, am so much stronger, no more excuses to make excuses!!  I used to do ten minutes and thought I was going to die....slight exaggeration.   Now I usually manage to do 60 minutes a day.  Now that is not all at once.  I usually do 30 and then 30 later after a short rest.  I am able to do so much more around the house now.  It is kind of like I have been given my life back again.  I hope it keeps up and I know it will because I have faith that I am being helped by a higher power.  How's that for inspiration?  So this is Monday morning and a new week begins.  I take Sundays off on exercising so it begins again today.

  1. It's so good when you find something that inspires you. It's different things for different people. Exercising with MS is no picnic so congrats for finding a system that works for you. How long have you been exercising, do you have a goal in mind?

    1. Earnestly for the past six months but longer just not really with my heart in it. My goal is just to get stronger, more independent and have a better life style.

  2. I am trying to find a way to get exercise as I cannot walk anymore at all. I can't bend over either for I could do damage to my spine.
except for sitting and waving my arms and feet around, I am not sure what in the world to do.

  3. Wow Lois, I am impressed. that is really great. I am really proud of you. I wish I could get inspired to get off my butt and start doing the same thing. I got my treadmill downstairs and my exercise bike right behind me as I type and I haven't used either one in quite a while. I have started walking again outside though, which is one good thing in my favor. Oh goody goody for me. Right. I need to get off my butt and do something.

By the way I am loving my I pad. I've been reading a book on there though and having a little problem with turning the pages. They sometimes skip on me and either go a couple too fast like 2 or 3 ahead and then I have to back them up and then sometimes when I'm trying to get back to where I was it skips back too many on me. It's very frustrating for me. Do you ever have that problem? Is it just getting use to it or what? Maybe my touch is too heavy or too light or something, I don't know. I did blog yesterday but I'm not sure if it took. They changed things and I tried to save it and I'm not sure if it did or not. My computer locked up on me and I turned it off finally. Take care. Hugs.
