Turkey Day is coming!

Thanksgiving is coming.  I am taking it really easy this year.  Not traveling to either son's homes just staying home.  We debated on turkey.  A lot of a whole turkey is wasted on us so I was just going to get a turkey breast and do that for the two of us.  Then we looked at the cost of buying just a breast and decided there is nothing wrong with having chicken.  So it will be chicken breasts and I think just to make it more festive I will bread them.  Then since its a holiday we will have mashed potatoes and gravy with it and vegetable. Also since my hubby hates not having his cranberry sauce I will have that.  Pie for dessert.  We don't usually have pie so that will make it more like a special day.  As I think about it, it is a special day.  We have so many things to be thankful for and I plan on giving a lot of thanks on that day.  Of course I always give thanks but might just make more of it on this holiday.  We didn't have any problems when hurricane Sandy hit.  We have had good health this year.  Not a lot of income but enough to have a nice roof over our heads and warm food in our belly.  So we have nothing to complain about and only things to be thankful about.  I hope anyone who reads this has a wonderful holiday and that the rest of your year is filled with love and blessings.

  1. I get a free turkey from the grocery each year. You can pick from their own brand, Butterball or Empire and I take the Empire Kosher turkey. Always delicious. I will be with my daughter and son this year .
