A big event

In a few days...January 12th.....we will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary.  My husband and I are both proud of this accomplishment.  Our thoughts are that we have lasted so long because no matter what was going on in our lives we both had respect for each other.  It would seem now days it is easier just to move in and live with someone without marriage.  I see too where when vows are said in a marriage a lot of times the wording is changed.  No more in sickness and health and for better or worse.  People make their own vows and say what they think is relevant for their way of living.  When I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis my husband stuck by me and helped me and I think our marriage became stronger.  In the many years that we have been married we have had many ups and downs but that respect for each other kept us strong and enabled us to persevere. The biggest thing is God has been in our lives.  So this week we are very proud and happy to have made this milestone. I had to share!

  2. Congratulations, and Happy Anniversary Lois!! I didn't realize it was your 50th till I read your post. It takes respect, love, patience, God, and allot more to make it through 50 years of marriage together. We will hit our 47th this year and it hasn't all been easy but I'd sure do it all over again. Terry is my best friend and my lover too and I don't know what I'd do without him.
Wishing you and Lynn many more happy years together Lois!!
