In the 1960's The Byrds, a folk/rock band played the song, "Turn! Turn! Turn!. It went up the charts on the Billboard Hot 100. People seem taken by the lyrics. Interestingly, though, except for the last line, those lyrics are from the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes. "To everything there is a season." says the writer of Ecclesiastes, "a time for every purpose under heaven". Birth and death, gain and loss, tears and laughter, mourning and dancing. I read of this from something written by Jennifer Benson Schuldt. I was so intrigued by the fact that someone would write a song in the 60's that would come from something right out of the Bible. I don't know about you but I don't think many song writers of today anyway get their lyrics from the Bible. So anyway, I just wanted to share this with you.
It is cold around here today and I even wore a winder jacket outdoors earlier. I had a follow up with my eye doctor about a contact I am wearing in my one eye. I have had this distorted vision for some time. One eye being super good and the other eye not so good. It ends up looking through one good eye and one bad eye I get a distorted view. So the contact I have blocks out the vision in the bad eye so that I am seeing only through the good eye and .....now see good. I do have peripheral vision with the vision blocking contact though so I can do well will driving. Isn't it great? I think so!
That song was playing when I was in physical therapy today and I was whistling along quietly. I always loved that song.
