Here we are Memorial Day Weekend. So what is going on here at our household? Nothing. Alright, I take that back. The weather is good and so we are going to take advantage of that and get some things done in the yard. I already decided that I need to make a plan for keeping the inside in better shape. My plan for that is this. Each day I decide on something that needs to be cleaned. It can be a small thing or a big thing. Yesterday I decided on my little bath off my bedroom. It ended up being a big job. That is where I do my hair after washing. So blowing the hair dry causes hair to ...eeek... leave the head and fly around the room. Because of that I needed to get the sweeper attachment in there and suck up all the stray hairs. Then deciding what was actually needed on the vanity and throwing out or storing the excess. Scrubbing the floor, the sink and top of vanity and of course the dreaded toilet. Now it is clean, sanitary and makes me quite pleased with my work in there. It was a job for me with my MS and tired me out. Today I thought a small job was required. I cleaned off the nightstand in the bedroom. Now you might wonder how that could be a job at all. Well let me tell you the sordid story of my cluttered life. On the night stand were three remotes, one that I use and two that I don't. A bowl with cough drops and cinnamon candy. Some loose change. Some stray buttons. Two bottles of nail polish. A pencil. A rubber band. two necklaces, one bracelet and one pair of earrings. A miniature flash light. A pill dispenser. A water bottle. A decorative square of cotton. A safety pin. Of course my clock radio which must remain where it is. I think that's it. At any rate, it is now clean, neat, dusted and my daily job is completed. Yard work today with my husband doing most of it with as much help as I can contribute. The lawn will be mowed and the neighbor has asked my husband to mow his back yard for him. The neighbor is having company tomorrow and the landscaper that he has mow his yard did so earlier in the week and he wants it touched up for his guests. We then want to work on taking up the patio stones on our walk way and putting down sand, leveling, and re-placing the stones. Right now they are very wobbly and I don't even feel safe using a cane and walking on them. That job may be put off till tomorrow or Monday. Most of the work will be done by the hubby and he is having some shoulder pain today. So fellow bloggers and readers that is my "holiday weekend" plans. Enjoy your weekend and remember our veterans!
