Saturday

While I am sitting here waiting for my eggs to be ready for making into deviled eggs and my husband is in the back yard mowing, it gives me time to ramble.  I mean blog!  The weather is so very nice today.  We have waited so long this year to have sunshine and warm temps.  It is still getting cool enough at night to cover up and snuggle down into the blanket and comforter.  This time last year last, I was sleeping with just a sheet and the ceiling fan going.  What a change.  Global warming....I think not!  Oh who knows?  One faction speaks of global warming and another faction speaks of something else.  I would say we must just trust in the Lord for what we get.  No matter what I am going to enjoy.  My childhood friend is having a birthday tomorrow.  She lives in FL so I won't be seeing her but I am sure we will talk.  She is three months older than me and I tease her all the time about being older.  We have been friends since we were twelve years old.  Together we learned to swim.  We went to our first school dances together.  Had our first crushes to discuss with each other.  We saw each get married and have our first child.  When she moved to FL soon after her daughter was born we didn't see each other for a long time even though we talked on the phone and wrote letters.  Then I made my first trip to FL and visited her parents home and picked an orange off of a tree in their back yard.  Her father had saved  one on the tree just for me to pick.  It was such an experience  because up until then the only oranges I had came from the super market.  Lots of firsts with JoAnn and now both of us will hit a real mile stone in age this year.  Neither of us ever thought we would be this old!  I don't feel this old.  My friend still works and she doesn't feel this old.  I have been told I don't look my age.  I think I will accept that .   I think today I will sit back and enjoy life in the sun and read a new book I just started.  It's a good day in the neighborhood, bless us all!

  1. It's so great that you have maintained a friendship for so long. Just wonderful.
I love deviled eggs. I can't just eat one and end up stuffing myself.
My mother and grandmother also used to pickle eggs in beet juice and those are good too!
Still cool at night here as well.
I agree, God is in charge. He will give us what we need.
