Thoughts

Everyone in some way or another is in denial about some aspect of their life.  We aren't half as charming, sexy, or smart as we think ourselves to be.  A surprise pass by a mirror can produce a messy stranger wearing the same, shocked "who the heck are you?" expression as yours.  My mother always used to quote that saying about fools names and fools faces always appearing  in public places.  I have thought now days that is more true than ever with Facebook and Twitter and Instagram.  What is it that makes people want to display pictures that sometimes are not appropriate or say things in print that may come back to haunt them?  Now I love Facebook.  I like to see my friends on there.  I am on Twitter but have nothing to say so I re-tweet things of interest from others.  So far I have not tried Instagram and probably won't.  The most I do that would draw much attention is this blog.  I don't think many even see that but I might be surprised.  I do have family members listed in my circle of people that will see this.  I read a lot and lately a lot of the books (fiction) that I have been reading take place in the 1800's.  The thing I like about those books are the language is always nice.  People in the stories talk face to face with each other.  Morals and hard work are the norm.  The stories always have something to keep me interested and always end in a nice way.  The older I get the more I enjoy people acting with love.  Books with stories of love and understanding.  I like good music that I can understand the words.  Children who have been taught manners.  Television that isn't all blood and gore!  Also, warm weather and sunshine.  Is that too much to ask?  Lets add good health, good food, clean homes, happy pets, loving children and grandchildren.  I bet if I went on here a bit longer I could put down lots of things that everyone would find good no matter your age.  I will end this with my hope that our world will one day turn from disharmony and "me me me" and become happy with love of their fellow man and not just them selves!

  1. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. (2 Peter 3:10–13 ESV)
