Reality? Really?

This morning a news blip on TV said Sarah Palin's daughter was making an impact on teen pregnancy and how hard it is and why you should wait to become a mother etc.  That she went on to do dancing with the stars and and other things and oh how wonderful this girl is.  Well, let me tell you the real reality of being a teen mother who actually married the father and lived the life of reality.  Me.  I got pregnant back when it wasn't a status symbol.  When you were ashamed and knew you had to keep it quiet.  When you actually got married and didn't do it alone or have rich parents that could pay your way or parents that were in the spotlight and could put you there too.  How would she have done if she had some blue collar parents that worked for a living and had no savings.  How would she have done if she had had a child with problems at birth and she had to find help?  Help that back when my child was born was just then becoming available.  I was not able to go on TV and leave home to buy a fancy home of my own.  I did however marry before the baby was born.  Stay married for 48 years.  Work with my child and find doctors and establishments that could help a child that had developmental problems.  I might add that child went on to graduate from college and become a CPA so I guess I did something "reality show" worthy to get him started in life.  I know I am showing my age but I am just so sick of the stupid stuff put on TV now days.  Housewives of this place or that.  Eating bugs to survive.  Being hit and thrown in the water for laughs.  Sitcoms that are on the cutting edge of vulgar.  Something happens news worthy and it is on every channel for a week or more every day.  Newscasters dissecting every angle of the situation till you want to go deaf!!  So young Ms Palin, good luck to you but why don't you try getting that education you missed out on and go quietly some where I don't have to hear about.

  1. You said a mouth full here.
I get sick of hearing how wonderful their lives are when they break every rule in the "book".
I see also the women on Home and Garden tv who mock houses as they walk through on tours and I think how spoiled they are.
Newly married couples buying huge expensive homes that aren't good enough for them. Its awful
    On another note,
Have a very Happy Mothers Day Lois.
