What is considered humorous? I have been seeing a few new sitcoms coming on TV soon. Some are already on and some are new ones that will make their debut soon. You know how they show you a few snippets of what the show will be about. Kind of a tease to get you interested in tuning in to watch. I remember watching shows in the past, probably long past, that were really funny. I enjoyed watching those shows and laughing. I mostly watch shows now days that are hour long stories. Some are too graphic and some I want to make sure I am not watching while eating because of all the blood and gore! So you would think I would be so happy about the new shows that they are advertising as a lot of laughs. Well my idea of funny has either changed a lot or I don't understand funny anymore! In the past the comedy shows were funny and not so whats the word I am looking for...edgy? Now they are so close to being off color and no taste. The language is as close as you can get to saying something the FCC doesn't allow. A lot of innuendos and references that are supposed to be amusing, I guess. Gosh I must be getting old.
I agree. They are downright disgusting in some cases. I think decency is something hollywood has lost sight of.
ReplyDeleteI watch the Turner Classic movies and the old shows like Gunsmoke etc. At least I know they don't have language problems. And yup, some are just way too graphic.
