Trying to think more positive than last week. So I will start by saying that yesterday was such a beautiful day I couldn't help but be happy. The temperatures were unusually warm and the sun was shining all day. Neighbors were out in their yards, I had my windows open all day and even into the evening. It was just a lovely day. I did prepare a crock pot meal and had fresh strawberries prepared and rolls ready.....just in case we had a visit from the son that lives closer to us than the other one. They had said they were planning on coming last weekend but didn't make it and I though just maybe they would make it this past one. Well, didn't happen but we enjoyed our meal and especially the fresh strawberries. Today we have a wind advisory in affect. It looks like that will probably chase away the warm temperatures and get us back to where we should be at this time of year. However, I have windows open again right now and a beautiful breeze coming through the house. I will enjoy this for another day. It actually was warm enough yesterday for the air conditioner to be turned on but I wanted to bask in the warmth and the breeze through the window and not hear anything but nature. I didn't feel like hearing the sounds of a mechanical cooling. So I am off here to continue enjoying until the cooler temps make for closed windows. The birds are chirping and it is a pleasant sound to hear.

Hi Lois!
ReplyDeleteIt;s a gorgeous day here today also with temps in the low 80s at noon and blue skies.
I hate having to use air conditioning and I love have windows open for breeze, etc.
Unfortunately it can be so hot and humid in the summer that it isn't an option for me sometimes.
I also am a big fan of birds singing. :) Makes me smile.
Have a lovely rest of the week.
Isn't this weather we've been having just wonderful. I wish it could be like this year round. Don't you just hate it when you think maybe some family might stop by and you wait all day and then no one comes. It's so disappointing. I know when we lived in our other house our kids would tell us they might stop over and I'd get my hopes up and then they wouldn't come.
ReplyDeleteWe have more birds this year. Finch's already and others I guess because the trees have grown. Can't wait to put out the Hummingbird Feeder.
